This is an unofficial "bulletin board" to provide ideas for missionary service for "senior" members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints living within the 31 stakes of the Las Vegas Senior Service Missionary Group. For full-time Senior Missionaries, the term "senior" means someone who is at least 40 years old, and only couples and single sisters are eligible. For at-home Senior Service Missionaries, the term "senior" refers to a member who is at least 26 years old. All missionaries must be Temple worthy. A. Urgent Needs

Please share these Senior Service Missionary opportunities with any potential missionaries whom you know.

Elder Paul Workman and Sister Siri Workman, Zone Leaders in the local BYU-Pathway program, have asked for help where additional missionaries are especially needed in the North and West Coordinating Councils stakes.

There are many hundreds of new students in the Africa South Area's BYU-Pathway program in the beginning their term of study very soon. The program needs as many senior service missionary couples or individuals as possible, who could serve 10-15 hours a week remotely from their home. They would help by shepherding, mentoring, and ministering to college students to develop faith, life skills, and academic abilities. The Transitional Office (formerly known as Transient Bishops) is currently open only two days a week, and would better serve those in need if they were open four days a week when additional missionaries are available.

Addiction Recovery Services Las Vegas NV Family Support	Serve as a group leader in support group meetings. Provide leadership in recovery support groups and spouse and family support groups.
BYU-Pathway Missionary Las Vegas NV Central BYU-Pathway	Participate in on-going training to help shepherd students; Facilitate weekly gatherings at a local building or virtually through video conferencing software; Inform prospective students about BYU-Pathway and invite them to participate; Provide students with love and support.
Community Resource Support Las Vegas NV Centro Hispano East Las Vegas NV Centro Hispano West	Assist the community — primarily the Hispanic community — learn life skills, including speaking English, handling finances, and emotional resiliance. Familiarity with Spanish is essential except for English Connect 2 volunteers, who can speak English only.
Employment Support Missionary Las Vegas NV Employment Resource Center	Serve in the employment center to teach job-search and job-application skills, interview preparation, and provide employment coaching. Virtual positions are available.
FamilySearch Library Service Missionary Las Vegas Nevada FamilySearch Center	Create inspired experiences that invite people to discover, gather and connect their family.
Military Relations Nellis Air Force Base Creech Air Force Base	Provide products and services to military members and local Church leaders. This assignment may include preparing and sending correspondence and monthly newsletters, archiving historical information, coordinating recommendations for Military Relations Missionary assignments, overseeing senior missionary couples serving at various bases around the world, and provide administrative support for annual Chaplains' Seminar and Military Advisory Committee meetings. Military experience is preferred but not required.
Mission Office Support Nevada Las Vegas Mission Office Nevada Las Vegas West Mission Office	A Mission Office Support missionary may serve as the secretary to the Mission President, financial secretary, housing coordinator, vehicle/bike coordinator, referral, records, or supplies secretary.
Storehouse/Home Storage Worker Las Vegas NV Bishops' Storehouse & Home Storage Center	Assist in filling orders for food and other commodities or assist with home-storage sales. May involve dealing with inventory and preparing reports.
Temple Administrative Office Las Vegas Nevada Temple	For those who have office and computer skill. Need to record and verify ordinances, answer phones, assist patrons with printing family name cards and scheduling appointments, assist Ordinance Workers check out study cards for Temple ordinances.
Transitional Services Support Las Vegas NV Transitional Services	Service missionaries assist with the daily operations of the Transitional Services Office including meeting with individuals to provide services, counseling, and referrals to other community resources.
Virtual Opportunities Working from home online	A member who is interested in Senior Service Missionary opportunities that involve online and remote service should contact us. There are a number of virtual missionary opportunities, including many with BYU-Pathway and FamilySearch. Missionaries must be comfortable working on the computer and need to have a high-speed Internet connection.
